The Riff Room is a marketplace where musicians buy and sell quality pre-owned gear with ease. We built the platform to help musicians find reliable instruments at affordable prices and give used gear a second life.

Our Story
The Riff Room was created by musicians, for musicians.
David Walsh and Catriona Snow, two musicians from Killarney, founded the platform based on real experience. While studying in university and performing in local venues, we saw how difficult it was to access affordable and reliable equipment.
In our hometown, options were limited. Music shops were few, and prices were often high. At the same time, we noticed how much unused gear musicians owned. Instruments and equipment sat idle while others struggled to afford the basics.
As lifelong friends, we share a strong passion for music. Catriona’s love for piano and David’s passion for guitars gave us insight into different areas of the music world. Together, we used these experiences to build a platform for all musicians.
This gap between supply and demand inspired The Riff Room.
We set out to create a platform where musicians can buy and sell gear easily and safely. Unlike general marketplaces, The Riff Room focuses only on musical equipment. This allows for a more structured, transparent, and trusted experience.
Our goal is simple. We want to make music more accessible, support musicians at every level, and give great gear a second life.

From Stage to The Riff Room
This live performance from David reflects the passion behind The Riff Room. Playing in venues like the Hawk’s Well Theatre helped shape our appreciation for the connection between musicians and audiences. That same sense of shared resonance is what inspired us to create a space where musicians can connect and give great gear a second life.
